1. Rainwater Spilling Over the Side

The best way to check is to look up at your guttering when its raining; if water is spilling over the side it’s almost certain your is blocked.  The obstruction acts like a dam forcing water over the sides of your guttering, leading to very expensive water damage which won’t be covered by insurance due to lack of maintenance.

  1. Sagging Gutters

The weight of moss, debris, grit from roof tiles, leaves and pine needles can cause your gutters to sag and bend.  When debris remains in your guttering, over time the excess weight will begin to wear on the gutters themselves.  The guttering may even pull away from your home causing more costly issues and headaches.

  1. Plant Growth

Ever looked up and noticed a small garden growing in guttering?  This is an obvious sign of a blocked gutter.  Seeds can accumulate so, with a bit of moss, grit and rainwater they will germinate forming a mini eco system.  This is not good and should be remedied immediately.
